Alternative Computational Model

So I've come across this term quite a bit lately, and I'm not entirely sure what the term means.

The only thing I can gather is that it's a break from the imperative model, which is basically sequential execution.

So does it just mean anything that allows for non-sequential execution, like a state machine for example?

no

Gee, that's helpful.

Are you suggesting state machines are non-sequential?

I'm suggesting that they allow for state transitions, which can be non-sequential.

But imperative programs can have branches, why do you consider those sequential but not state transitions?

I'm not here to argue.

I'm just trying to understand this term.

I'm not trying to argue, just trying to figure out what you mean by ``sequential''?

I'll use the term in a sentence so you understand:
"I would give you some coffee, but I somehow got my head caught in a beehive. Alternative computational model."

U get it?Dw, I didn't get it the first time either
