I've done the whole OOP thing for over a decade. I came to realize it's nothing more than a cult, a religion--just like most other /prog/riders.
Unfortunately, where I work, they still drink the OOP koolaid. It's impossible to convince them to think outside of the OOP straightjacket, they have too much misguided "faith." How can I show them the error of their ways?

Make 'em refactor some fucked up Scala code with lots of complex multiple cross-inheritance. Make 'em rewrite all the fucking little type constraints caused by every little goddamn class inheriting from nearly every other goddamn class.

If not for OOP, you would have been unemployed. OOP and Java create enormous job market, demanding millions of mindless code monkeys.
If they move from Java to Haskell, then 100 code monkeys would be replaced with one university PhD graduate. And people like you and me will be lose jobs.
