[Expert]Interview with a Lambda[AMA]

So for something different, we're going to have a direct dialogue and focus on a one resident Lambda Arthur Calculus / Sgt Kabukiman(?) and ask him any questions we have, see what makes him tick, and what the future holds for the last man alive to have ever read the standard.

I'll start off.

Lambda, you seem to have a propensity for C(89) over LISP(Scheme), is this because of your relation with dmr? Or because you prefer the McCarthy-derived syntax or just an overall greater personal familiarity with C?

You mentioned how this generation's programming hopefuls aren't able to grok the lambda calculus, and this has been reflected in academia with MIT abandoning Scheme for it's 6.001 course and replacing it with Python. Do you see this trend continuing as the young minds of today become progressively bogged down with inane frivolities? Will this singularize, as hard tech progresses and a neural interface is achieved, to the point where all that the "programmer" does is think about the program they want and the machine then produces the code autonomously in response?
