I use programmers notepad. I think its nice. Deal with it neckbeards.

All editors are shit, goes for vim, emacs, acme and anything else.
First of all, an editor should render files for your viewing consistently and no editor does, they all choke on special cases which could be rather long files with no line breaks (usefull in some cases where all source code is concateneted into one file), or it could be big files (1GB+), or something else. Well, no editor seems to get this right, not even VIM.
Second, if my monitor is specified to display at a 60MHz vertical refresh rate, then I assume any program that tries to display anything, does so at a refresh rate compatible with the display. I do not know about any X11 editor that can do this. I do not know about any Windows editor that can do it. Perhaps OSX editors can, I've not tried yet. What I can say though, is that no portable editor can get this simple thing right. Thus they are shit and should be slammed into the garbage bin. I'm forced to look at tearing code while I'm scrolling and paging all day long. This is pathetic. If I had a nuke to ignite with the push of a button, I'd punch that fucker right now.
Third, responding to user "input". Nah, all editors gives fuck about the programmer. The editor is doing something, and me the programmer is told to step back and watch until it's my turn to let it know what I think it should do. They're unresponsive. They lock up as if they've been written by junior programmers never heard of threads, or signals. Yeah...this is just unacceptable. But since, everyone seems to think this is just OKAY, I'm forced to make it right myself and I'm doing it.

Assuming you're talking about youtube-dl, it simply downloads flvs from youtube. It doesn't really have anything to do with sausages.

If I recall correctly it's written in Python so I assume it just uses some high level library for retrieving the data from web servers. I don't think it's able to 'realise' whether it's behind a great wall of 'cisco'. I don't see how that's relevant to anything either.

Well, for one thing it isn't empty. It's quite useful if you're using a browser that doesn't have a flash plugin since you can just download the flv and play it with whatever media player you want. I assumed that was the position >>26 was in, so it was quite a good suggestion.
