So I've never owned an Android device and never used Linux stuff at all.
I'm very proficient with C++/Java and somewhat proficient with C#, Python and Objective-C. All done on Windows or Mac.
From googling briefly I've heard Android incorporates their own version of Java which is close enough to Oracle's stuff that their were a bunch of patent lawsuits.
I'd appreciate any advice from anyone who already has experience with Android programming, especially if you were able to do it without learning a mountain of Linux stuff.
Favorite IDEs or tools for making code for an android also welcome!
