I have dishonored myself by breaking my shift key, rendering the Curly Braces impossible. Even now I am lowered to using the nasty left shift key to capitalize.

well, if you use vim you can just

:imap <F11> {
:imap <F10> _

that'll help a little. But please don't kill yourself. Why not start living by quiting programming instead?
