now. Shutting your eyes and ears to them won't make the customs, rules and structures which enable discrimination based on them to go away.
Without discussion of this, how would you stop, for instance, phenomenons like the glass escalator for men in women-dominated fields? It's a subtle result of various forms of gender-based discrimination, including some against men, but indeed, it coalesces into another form of privilege, and without the concept, there are tons of these sorts of shit which you won't be able to uproot because there won't be any rules and laws to repeal, being a subtler, emergent phenomenon.
And as for ``extra discrimination'', for fuck's sake, you are talking about Internet forums, aren't you? Name me another instance where men are silenced for routinely flooding the fucking place with stupid arguments about things they are, by definition, unaware of.
