Are you the ``feminist'' around here who disputes the existence of privilege? Don't make me laugh.

And you can't spot an obvious troll post, my neckbearded friend.

Yes, yes I am.  Privilege is well-defined and it is present in society; I'm just arguing that it's a terrible concept because it encourages extra discrimination (to ``even things out''), and it's a great tool for so-called feminist cretins for dismissing arguments based on where they come from without any extra work.  For instance, you, my cretinoid friend, used ``heterosexual privilege'' to dismiss my defence of the word ``faggot''.  Curtailing freedom (of speech) so that the poor unprivileged minorities don't get offended?  Fuck off and die.

Boy you're obnoxious. Especially since you learnt that word, ``cretin''. But you'll probably get over it in a week, and you'll learn what freedom of speech actually means once you finish high school.

I presented a much stronger argument than that to condemn the use of that slur, but you, tellingly, only got your beard in a twist over and focused on my pointing out of your privilege, something of which you should be aware anyway, ``feminist''.

And privilege, like race, gender and sexual orientation, are not things you can just overlook, or at least overlook now. Shutting your eyes and ears to them won't make the customs, rules and structures which enable discrimination based on them to go away.

Without discussion of this, how would you stop, for instance, phenomenons like the glass escalator for men in women-dominated fields? It's a subtle result of various forms of gender-based discrimination, including some against men, but indeed, it coalesces into another form of privilege, and without the concept, there are tons of these sorts of shit which you won't be able to uproot because there won't be any rules and laws to repeal, being a subtler, emergent phenomenon.

And as for ``extra discrimination'', for fuck's sake, you are talking about Internet forums, aren't you? Name me another instance where men are silenced for routinely flooding the fucking place with stupid arguments about things they are, by definition, unaware of.

But I'm pretty sure that you are a ``Libertarian'' of some sort, and thus it's useless to discuss anything with you other than the repealing of laws.

So fuck off, ``cis-cum''.

Likewise.  I can say/type whatever the fuck I want, including the slur of the day.

I presented a much stronger argument than that to condemn the use of that slur, but you, tellingly, only got your beard in a twist over and focused on my pointing out of your privilege, something of which you should be aware anyway, ``feminist''.
And my point was that since I only use the word ``faggot'' with people who aren't homophobic, no harm is done and the whole social bullshite (incl. ``privilege'') is irrelevant.

And privilege, like race, gender and sexual orientation, are not things you can just overlook, or at least overlook now. Shutting your eyes and ears to them won't make the customs, rules and structures which enable discrimination based on them to go away.
Ever heard of race-blindness or gender-blindness?  Surely you don't mean I should see race and gender and give a little extra to poor unprivileged people to even things out.

Without discussion of this, how would you stop, for instance, phenomenons like the glass escalator for men in women-dominated fields?
General statement being that gender is a social cancer.

it coalesces into another form of privilege, and without the concept, there are tons of these sorts of shit which you won't be able to uproot because there won't be any rules and laws to repeal, being a subtler, emergent phenomenon.
There is no ``bad'' phenomenon of that kind that can be described in terms of privilege and not solely in terms of discrimination.  If you think I'm wrong, then provide a counterexample.

And as for ``extra discrimination'', for fuck's sake, you are talking about Internet forums, aren't you?
I really only hang out on /prog/ these days.

Name me another instance where men are silenced for routinely flooding the fucking place with stupid arguments about things they are, by definition, unaware of.
Wow, fucking beautiful, an argument based on who I am in all its glory.  Kindly fuck off.

But I'm pretty sure that you are a ``Libertarian'' of some sort, and thus it's useless to discuss anything with you other than the repealing of laws.
So to be a feminist (by your definition) I would need to start hating free speech or what?
