That's untrue. It's far from impossible to get used to an alternative OS. Are you really so weak-willed that you can't surpass your baby duck syndrome?
Regarding the wine thing, that's unlikely. It's annoying to use sub-par applications you have to download yourself from the developer's website in a limited environment full of bugs when you can do the same (or more) with native FOSS applications installed from a package manager (or that already come with the base installation).
