When your compiled program compiles without errors into a file like this, I think it's time to switch compiler, or maybe start coding in pure ASM.

Regarding the wine thing, that's unlikely. It's annoying to use sub-par applications you have to download yourself from the developer's website in a limited environment full of bugs when you can do the same (or more) with native FOSS applications installed from a package manager (or that already come with the base installation).
