Would anyone here know of the programmatic way to disable a webcam's LED? I smell Hex Editing, but that's okay.

Might not be possible. But if it is, get ready to patch some firmware!

Unplug the webcam (or take the battery out, if it has one). That guarantees the LED won't light up.

Probably not possible without hardware modification or at least removing it first. The LED is driven off a GPIO on the MCU in it, and the firmware of that is likely not updateable over the regular interface.

If you switch it on for a fraction of a second to take the image, then switch it off immediately, the LED won't have time to light up. Perhaps.

that's impossible the led feeds of the voltage being sent to power up the camera.

Sorry, I meant to say that it won't have time to perceptively light up, i.e. the user won't notice the flicker.

hmm, 120 fps, thats t < 1/120; tl = t - eyeDistance/photonSpeed - timeForPhotonToDiscarge;
tl, that's only if the led doesn't use a capacitor(fixed time to discharge) ,a (fixed second_)clk, where the voltage sent to the camera acts like a switch and not as the actual voltage.
close enough?

If you try to force it to take a picture that fast you won't get any recognisable image (if it even lets you do so.) The sensors they use require a short calibration time when turned on to adjust things like white balance and exposure.

Exposure is important to get the data in the first place, but white balance is just a colour adjustment.
