I was actually pretty excited when I first heard about it.

The course offerings by Stanford in the past semester (Machine Learning, Databases and Intro to AI) were outstanding. And we've yet to see how the newer ones fare.

But MIT, unlike those other classes, claims that MITx 6.002 is as complete (and difficult) as its on-campus course.

True, Computer Science is not really about computers...But a great deal of it depends on them and so a profound knowledge of their inner workings is prone to give insight on the bigger picture.

That was quite exhausting but well worth it. I haven't watched the Sussman's afterword yet.

CS is about the theory of information. Computers are about the adding and subtracting and comparing of numbers. You can have one without the other. Without CS, we would try to completely solve problems that are NP hard. We certainly wouldn't understand the limits to work within and so, we would design systems that aren't as efficient as they could possibly be.

This is neat, but do you have to enroll to watch the videos and get the exercises and stuff?

I enrolled when the course started and didn't find time to complete it within their requirements. I'm thankful they kept it open so I can continue.

Don't change these.
