I was actually pretty excited when I first heard about it.
The course offerings by Stanford in the past semester (Machine Learning, Databases and Intro to AI) were outstanding. And we've yet to see how the newer ones fare.
But MIT, unlike those other classes, claims that MITx 6.002 is as complete (and difficult) as its on-campus course.
True, Computer Science is not really about computers...But a great deal of it depends on them and so a profound knowledge of their inner workings is prone to give insight on the bigger picture.
