Why can't Linux be as easy as Windows

Name: Anonymous 2012-02-09 7:06

I guess you get what you pay for. UNIX is over 40 years old. They should just design a new OS entirely as a base system.

Plan 9 is already done.

Yeah, and women are inferior as sexual objects because they don't even have dicks!

Name: Anonymous 2012-02-09 7:35

Those that do have dicks are easier.

1/10 for making me laugh.

No, men are inferior as sexual objects because they have few holes, and a quite great refractory period.

This sounds like a bug. You should report it.

Linux is a lot easier than Windows, especially if you want to set up a programming environment.

I just
want a visual interface AND a comfy command line AND good documentation. Is this too much to ask?

Name: Anonymous 2012-02-09 11:27

>>11
Yes it is. Look at how crappy both Windows and Linux are.

There are better OSes like VMS, i5/OS, Multics, Genera, Inferno and EROS but they either only run on machines that cost more than ten thousand dollars, haven't been developed in 20 years, or are research OSes that have no programs other than the ones that come with the OS.

Lisp is shit, VMS and Multics are horrible, Inferno had a shitty language and EROS is just shit.

Just use GNU/Linux.

visual interface

Linux is user friendly, just not idiot friendly.

I'd like to interject... I'll show myself out.

Name: Anonymous 2012-02-09 20:24

In that case, Linux is not user friendly. That doesn't change the fact that GNU/Linux based systems are user friendly.

Name: Anonymous 2012-02-09 22:57

Linux is shit.

Name: Anonymous 2012-02-09 23:28

If it ain't Linux, it's crap.

Name: Anonymous 2012-02-10 2:12

If it ain't Linux, it's Windows, Mac OSX, *BSD, or any other number of non-Linux operating systems.

Sounds like you want OpenBSD.

I fucking love Plan 9.  I wish I were actually competent at using it though.
