OSDev holds back code, like they might be in league with teachers to prevent plagarism.  They ban any advanced people... and any that have different opinions.

Basically, they shuffle-along a stream of newbies, show them how to use Linux tools, let them work toward hopeless goals until they tire and move-on. 

I didn't discover OSDev until 3-4 years along.  had no reason to look.  Anyone who needs help, is probably hopeless.

Personally, I'm appauled at how purely lazy many of the people who go there are.  They won't even do simple printf debugging.  Asking others to fix your code is certainly weird, too.
