I'm not being funny but what the fuck is with this book? It's the hardest fucking book I've seen I can't get past the first chapters there's even math in it wtf I just wanted to write programs.
No. Nobody has ever read SICP. That's what it was the textbook at the world's leading technology university, and why it is considered a classic computer science text.

I tried, didn't get past the first chapters but mostly because I got lazy.
it's a good book for understanding core concepts and mostly how the parser actually works, of course I'm describing the little I've read.
and yes it has math, depending on your area of work math may be more or less helpful but it's never useless.
for the record, I've read up to the beginnging of the second chapter and thanks to this I got interested again, thanks op!
I dare say it's definitely not a beginners' book, it's just for those who really want to get good at it, you can work all your life wihout having read it.

There are many orders of magnitude more people with JavaScript knowledge than Scheme knowledge. Plus it can be embedded in HTML pages and executed as website-form SICP.
Of course that would interfere with book profits.
