Is LISP a serious language? It has lots of fans. Why?
Over the years, I've encountered a few things that require a different way of thinking -- SQL and PLC ladder logic, come to mind.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ladder_logic I don't really like them.
I thought about writing a LISP compiler. LoseThos is for recreational programming, so it would be appropriate. Honestly, is it good for something like this tank game's artificial intelligence?
http://www.losethos.com/videos/tanks.html That problem seems very similar to compiler optimizations, in my mind.
Anyway, I'd like to hear honest opinions of LISP, not from some kids who are primarily trying to brag and show-off elitism. I also don't want to hear from homos who get-off on irrational elegance, like being proud that their soup cupboard has alphabetized cans and ... no gaps, or something. People get irrationally drawn to neat elegant things.
