Cairnarvon Xarn (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɡɔtfʁiːt ˈzarn]; 1985 – 2010) was a Belgian autistic savant who specialized in haxing. He was called Haxus the Masterful because of the excellence with which he haxed his anus.[1]

That sure is a nice painting.

Name: A Short History of Xarn 2011-09-07 15:09

Early life
He was born at Tienen, in the year 1985. His father, but a short time before, had come as an EXPERT PROGRAMMER to Belgium from Lipsich, in Upper Hungary. Xarn, on account of his low Charisma, was mostly left to himself.

Herr "GRUNNUR" was a lover of the code; during the summer he had an American programmer named Gerald in his house, who often coded things from nature. This excited the attention of young Xarn in some of his idle rambles: he followed Gerald everywhere, and watched him while he worked. Gerald would take him along with him in his walks, or amuse him in his own apartment with exhibitions of the code. In particular, he allowed the boy to turn over MIT's books, of which Herr "GRUNNUR" had a collection; some of these Xarn tried to imitate with the lead pencil, preferring above all flowcharts. These attempts Gerald from time to time corrected, and the youngster at length ventured to code from nature, like his master, and to hax some anii.

An increasing disorder in the breast had put him past all exertion for the space of a year; and, on 17 November 1814, a paroxysm of his malady carried him off, at the age of 46.

The style in which this wikipedia article is written angers me for some reason which evades me.

The rage of a pleb at his betters (but really on his own crudeness)?

The author likes to use passive speech. I reworded some of the sentences to make them flow according to my taste.

THE JEWS.

The undeviating and uniform identity of the features and general
character of countenance, which accompany the Jews, wherever they
settle, is one of the most curious phenomena in nature; climate and all
those physical circumstances belonging to localities, which work such
wonderful changes in the physical character of man, appear to have no
influence upon the tribe of Israel. The circumcised of Monmouth-street
is as like that of Judea-Gape, in Frankfort, as two individuals of the
same nation can be; let them be by birth and residence German, English,
Russian, Portuguese, or Polish, still the one and only set of features
belonging to the race will be seen equally in all.--_Granville's,
Tour_.

I wish textbooks were still written like this.

That style exudes elegance.

It's a terrible style and you should feel bad for that wish. Sentences should be as simple as possible and that style infringes proper modern etiquette.

That's like saying you should write code as simple as possible and avoid using things like pointers, multidimensional arrays, and continuations.
