Early life
He was born at Tienen, in the year 1985. His father, but a short time before, had come as an EXPERT PROGRAMMER to Belgium from Lipsich, in Upper Hungary. Xarn, on account of his low Charisma, was mostly left to himself.
Herr "GRUNNUR" was a lover of the code; during the summer he had an American programmer named Gerald in his house, who often coded things from nature. This excited the attention of young Xarn in some of his idle rambles: he followed Gerald everywhere, and watched him while he worked. Gerald would take him along with him in his walks, or amuse him in his own apartment with exhibitions of the code. In particular, he allowed the boy to turn over MIT's books, of which Herr "GRUNNUR" had a collection; some of these Xarn tried to imitate with the lead pencil, preferring above all flowcharts. These attempts Gerald from time to time corrected, and the youngster at length ventured to code from nature, like his master, and to hax some anii.
