So, how goes the 'mobile coding' project, /prog?

I saw a prepaid smartphone, $79 with its 600MHz cpu, that is faster than all bar one of my -mostly old- computers....

How hard would it be to swap android, for, say some flavour of *nix? Or would that be overkill / impossible?

Like some crazy 'We only use java' // 'No, u can't have a C compiler' // 'You must use VM...' // 'Dictator?' version *nix..?

Probably can't even use it as a proxy, for all its security, being a phone it actually has none...?

On N900 it's possible to have normal Debian(aka easy debian modo) and the phone supports dual boot, so it's possible to load any OS that supports hardware.

The same can be said about androids I think.
