Java

I just realized that I love Java. It is my favorite programming language both server side and on the client. Nothing is impossible and nothing is trivial. Peace, bros.

Get a blog, I don't care.

Java is about as enjoyable as walking outsde, in 80 degree weather, wearing a skirt, pantyhose, and 3 inch heels.

How long is the skirt?

Java should be proof that elegant BS is not enough to survive in the market.  You need to suck.  You need to suck in a way that is significant enough that enough people will love you for it.  You need to be crippled and offer a significant challenge, one that is not completely insurmountable yet remains daunting enough that people will find you worth going back to to try and work magic around it.

actually, you just need to be ENTERPRISE. It blows more horse's ass than we can possibly imagine, but that's what made or broke languages in the nineties.

Java is fun, because you get to feel like you're super productive writing loads of code. Even though it's actually the same boiler plate, masses of super simple shit with the same amount of exception handling crap just to get something simple done. That's probably why it makes managers happy: it makes the role of programmer more like a typer, typing away endlessly which is all they've ever wanted. They understand that. Then programmers are like slightly odd secretaries. Get back to typing, idiot.

Fuck programming for a living. I think I will become an ENGINEER

You know sometimes some engineers program too. For example I know an engineer who went to work at an engineering company and they ended up doing crowd simulation for the Olympics which involved both a mixture of computer and mathematical modelling.

That said, I imagine the culture is a lot better than at a technology company. People are probably more balanced meaning you don't get the sheer tangible density of sexual, social and existential frustration you do at a tech company.
