I'm sorry you don't know your brass instruments.
ASM: in some ways the most flexible one, but also extremely limited. Basically impossible to write normal programs with. You can't play a pile of brass scraps, btw.
C: Very constrained, but also very basic. Any programmer should be able to operate it.
C++: Like C, but shittier.
Forth: kind of weird compared to the others, but also extremely flexible.
Haskell: the "deep" language.
Lisp: difficult for others to use, but very nuanced.
Perl: obnoxious.
Python: like perl, but sillier.
Ruby: like Python and perl, but even less useful.
