Writing a driver for a USB WiFi dongle

Name: Anonymous 2010-08-05 15:54

It's not possible with a single dongle to both connect to a network and act as a router, is it? Would it be possible to write some sort of a driver, which would "emulate" this behaviour?

Do you know how to use a PC as a router? If so, why do you think it would be any different just because you're using a USB badongle?

My point is that I'd like to use the dongle to connect to my home network and to create a less-secured "subnet" for my NDS simultaneously. I don't expect that this is possible with standard software; I'm entertaining the thought of writing my own driver for the dongle and I'm asking for advice.

it is possible, and freebsd and windows 7 (and probably linux, too) can do it with minimal effort.
but this is completely unrelated to programming and you should go back to /g/, please.

A computer that does two unrelated things at once? Highly unlikely!

But yes, of course it's possible. It's fucking trivial unless you're using Windows.

But I am!
Oh well, I thought that it wouldn't be. Imma ask /g/ later, thanks guys.

No. I've been here longer than you, too. You're always so mean, /prog/, but I know that it's just the way you show that you care <3
