Is JEE free?

I just can't find it explicitly stated anywhere. I know that Enterprise Edition is usually used along with Oracle databases which are batshit expensive. But is hosting a website without a database possible for free of charge on the JEE platform?

But I get the feeling that that isn't your actual question, because it's too stupid to deserve an answer.
Or are you asking if there is a free database you can use?
If so Google "mysql", "postgres", possibly even "sqlite" if you don't expect much traffic. Hell, you might even want to look up "NoSQL" solutions

Why do you care about the cost of JEE? If you're using it because your employer wants you to, he'll pay for it. If you're using it in any other capacity, you're using the wrong tools for the job.
