What are your opinions on Object Pascal vs C++

Name: Anonymous 2010-02-27 1:31

Other than the array size as part of the data type issue, Pascal is superior in all ways. Turbo Pascal was the language I used all through high school. I always felt like I should have been learning C/C++, but something told me those languages were terrible mistakes of nature. 15 years later, I can confirm that is the case.

Any tips on where to start?

IN MY ANUS

Name: Anonymous 2010-02-27 1:53

Neither does OO right.

Pascal has a too verbose syntax, while C++ has a too messy syntax and bolted too much stuff on C. I wish language designers would focus less on syntax and more on semantics.

If you had to choose one or the other, which would it be?

Name: Anonymous 2010-02-27 2:08

>>6
I'd probably go with SEPPLES if they were my only choices, but I'd rather not.

Name: Anonymous 2010-02-27 2:48

I have no choice, i use neither. Why are you asking me?

Name: Anonymous 2010-02-27 2:50

Ada

Name: Anonymous 2010-02-27 2:50

What do you use then?

Name: Anonymous 2010-02-27 2:52

And by no choice I mean that i don't willingly write in either of those languages. What I don't mean is that i am being forced to not use either of those languages. Isn't going to school for CS kinda like being forced to use a certain language? I was reading this MIT Grad Assgnment and they have to use scheme. I think they're redesigning the wheel. 4tran worked for what, um 60 years. yeah so, python will work for another 60? cool...

Name: Anonymous 2010-02-27 3:12

uhoh. this forum died again.

Name: Anonymous 2010-02-27 5:19

python
Good god. I'll stick to ``4tran'' then. [b][i][o]NO EXCEPTIONS![/b][/i][/o]

Name: Anonymous 2010-02-27 9:41

>>13
Why the [b]fuck[/i] are so many people failing at [i]BBCode[/b]?

Name: Anonymous 2010-02-27 9:48

>>14
They are still writing their BBcode by hand instead of generating it.

Name: Anonymous 2010-02-27 10:39

>>15
Generate it from what? It's not like there's a LaTeX-to-BBCode translator out there.

Name: Anonymous 2010-02-27 10:55

>>16
Write your own, I did. Hell, there are even threads where people posted their own.

Name: Anonymous 2010-02-28 22:55

>>17
I even posted a bbcode GUI once that had an idiotproof EXPERT button that wrapped [b][i][u][o] around the selected text.

But nooooo there's still people using the LEGACY DEPRECATED [b][o][u][i] ordering, so a fat lot of good sharing that code did anyone.

Open sores lol.

Name: Anonymous 2010-03-01 3:51

Lol at all these whack kiddies adding unnecessary bloat to their /prog/ configuration. Real programmers don't need fancy frameworks to get things done, they actually know how to write [b][i]CONFORMANTBBCODE they damn self.

This thread has been experted the whole prog. You can't reply anymore

frameworks are not necessary, assuming the libraries are all accessible

Reviving the VN thread: anything VN related goes.

After having finished ML series right after reading through Muramasa, I decided to change the pace and started reading LOVELY x C^TION. The "datesim" part's implementation is underwhelming. Can't really say much about the story since I just started reading it a few hours ago, but I'm already in love with Amagase. Moe overload

You know who wasn't stupid? The guy who invented the pet rock.

Name: Anonymous 2013-09-01 11:28

Is anyone willing to explain the story of Umineko as simply put as possible?

Don't change these.
