why do people still use PHP ?
with PHP you have to do most stuff yourself while perl can make that shit for you with simple functions ?

php is great, I can kick out a site in record time and have it hosted on any number of shared host sites. And its very portable - there are fewer hosts supporting perl, ruby, asp, python. the library has all the functionality I need for the sites I make and extensions are plentiful.

simple, fast and easy.

some advice: don't let the perfect become the enemy of the good.
