antispam for 4chan

Is it possible to make an automatic anti-spam based on the report feature?

Maybe add an extra option.

It will check for similar posts in all boards, if more than one post with a similar composition were reported as spam by a X number of users it will be flagged as spam deleting all similar posts and blocking it to be posted again. Something similar to the gmail anti-spam.

If moot's coders weren't the lazy assholes they are, they would have put a few anti-spam regexen into place years ago to auto-ban those little spam bots. (And would update them once in a while too. A man can dream, right?)

4chan already have some sort of spam filter but it is updated by few mee (admins?) and is always outdated.

What I want is a system to update the spam list based on the report system.

I don't think that's as easy as you make it sound. Someone has to craft those regexp's, otherwise it may catch innocent people(and even if they do it properly, it may still catch some innocent posters). Maybe they could get a janitor if there's too much spam, but I haven't seen spam on /prog/ in a while, (just the cNAKED... one). The imageboards do however get a lot of spam, but the spammers there seem to randomize their posts to avoid the filters, which makes doing this properly even harder than it is.

tl;dr: If people could completly stop spam, they would have done it by now.

The best solution would be attack them back to teach them that we are not their whore but all /b/ doesn now is raid other 4chan boards.

I agree with >>29 that with proper heuristics, spam could probably be filtered out with a pretty good ratio after a while. Of course, banning a few more subnets couldn't hurt as well (preferrably those posting AnonTalk and virus links, I always rage when I see that).

A simpler idea:
Many spammers will spam all boards at the same time. But real users don't post at many boards at the same time, How about make the posting delay global? The same way that if you make a post on one board you have to wait a minute to post again there it could be made that if you post
This might reduce the spam since the spambots wouldn't be able to post the same thing 40 times at once anymore (and them post more 40 times in one minute).
