how i program well

hey guys i was wondering if anyone could give me a good book/resource for learning C++, if it matters any i'm running Windows XP.

The problem with that book is that it's designed like C++ itself. big, complicated, and not particularly lucid. However, once you've learned C++ fairly well (and being able to write working programs in it doesn't necessarily count) you'll probably also be able to navigate Bjarne's book. It makes a good reference for competent programmers who are occasionally called upon to descend to writing C++ code.
