Hey /prog/, why does people (expecially debian people) hate ubuntu?

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 9:35

>>88
We here in /prog/ use our computers for computing tasks, not gay tasks. Please visit /v/ where you will be welcome.

Now please excuse me, I'm going to play a very colourful metroid game.
Should have done that in the beginning. :(

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 9:40

>>89
doh ho ho, you speak for the whole of /prog/, eh?
i've been here for a very long time, and i can tell you that you're full of shit.
but hey, whatever. it's just proof that i've won due to your pathetic lack of arguments. i'm laughing at you right now. go play zelda for the millionth time, child.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 9:43

>>91
I can't see what have you "won". These people will still enjoy their games *shrug*.

:) dawwwwwww, he's trying to regain his dignity by denying that he's lost.
how cute.
it doesn't change anything.

The only game worth playing is Xarn's The Mansion. He should release a Linux port already.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 9:48

>>94
I'm not him. I'm just curious. You have done nothing for their loss, just something for your, and only your, gain.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 9:51

>>96
that doesn't make sense and i'm sick of your whining, console baby.
i'm sick of people like you coming here because they "want to lurn how to progrem teh video gaemz XDXDXDDDDDD", go away.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 9:52

Hi, me again. Tell me this, you refuse to play games that are too colourful and have silly names(in your opinion) yet I'm the child.

The only people who act like this are either retards or 12 year old children who try to act mature to be like the cool kids. Take your pick.

Plus I don't see why you're complaining about newer games. You seem to like these newer grimdark games that only have the colours grey and brown.

I'm the guy from before, not >>89-kun.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 9:52

>>97
Okay. Enjoy your incorrigible misconceptions about me. I'll go play some toy games with the other guy.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 9:54

>>98
God damn, stop being trolled. Come, let's play children's video games together and have fun.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 9:55

>>97
I don't think anyone here mentioned wanting to make video games. Now you're just making shit up.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 10:00

>>99
thank you
>>98
i haven't been a hardcore gamer for years. i don't play many games these days, but the new games i have seen have left me unimpressed.
i don't care for grimdark really, except for the s.t.a.l.k.e.r games. if you must know, my favourite game of all time is morrowind; nothing grimdark about that at all. the main reason i complain about newer games is due to the fact that oblivion was pure shit compared to its older brother (due to the fact that it was developed with consoles heavily in mind), and the fact that games like halo are so damn popular even though they are awful.

i'm psychic.
i also know that your favorite language is python and you "LOEV XKCD BECUS IT'S SO INTELLEGENT"

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 10:02

Morrowind was also on the Xbox. Also the fact that you classified yourself as a "hardcore gamer" pretty much proves how big of a faggot you are.

>>99
Who said I'm a guy ;)?

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 10:06

>>104
i said i'm not. please learn to read.
yes, morrowind was on xbox, but it wasn't butchered and ruined by that fact - oblivion _was_.

you're either a guy or a tranny. no such thing as female programmers.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 10:12

>>105
One last question. Tell me did you ever play a console for more than a week?

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 10:16

>>106
yes. i own a playstation and enjoyed playing tekken often when i was younger.
my playstation sits in a cupboard collecting dust whereas my computers hummmm along nicely constantly in use - just goes to show which is more useful and makes a better investment.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 10:17

>>107
...for you.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 10:21

>>107
I'm pretty sure if you had a Playstation 3 and a computer from 1995 which you never upgraded the situation would be quite different.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 10:25

>>108
for anybody who knows what they're doing.
computers can be put to innumerable different uses.
maybe you want to use one as a sever, or one to feed movies downloaded from the internet directly into your tv - bypassing the need for a dvd player or whatever. maybe you want a separate computer for programming and one for entertainment. maybe you want several to set up a test network for practising security related skills. maybe you want a computer next to your toilet so you can surf the net while you're taking a crap (i haven't done this myself, but it's an interesting idea).
all you need is a little imagination and a little technical knowledge.
what are old consoles good for? being "collectors items", collecting dust?

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 10:27

>>109
i have a computer from 1995 (or sometime close to that), i plan to set it up as a transparent firewall using OpenBSD and pf.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 10:28

>>110
What if I want to play games that are only on consoles?

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 10:30

>>111
I see and what newer games would you play on it since that's the discussion we're having.

Honestly you're like the cheapest person I've ever seen, you can't justify spending $200-$300 every 5 years for some good entertainment?

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 10:32

>>112
emulation.
you can get emulators for pretty much any older console these days.
if you're talking about newer games then go ahead, buy your waste of money console and play your wii tennis or whatever. enjoy your shitty baby games

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 10:32

>>112
then your gay. because all console-exclusive games are gay.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 10:35

>>114
I'd rather not wait 10 years for something I could play right now. Chances are those games might be very outdated by then.

>>115
Classy.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 10:37

>>113
i played fallout 3 and s.t.a.l.k.e.r clear sky. however, i don't have much interest in playing games these days.
actually, i have no problems upgrading my computers because i use them for many things, not just games. just a few months ago i bought an extra 4GB of RAM for my main computer. upgrades for my computer are much more useful than buying a console in so very many ways.
and that's $200-$300 for the console + $100 for each game.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 10:41

>>117
More like $30 for the game if you live in Europe and wait a month or two after release.
That is even if you buy games since every console except the PS3 is incredibly easy to pirate.

Well enjoy your loneliness.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-15 10:43

loneliness?
one would think that i'm less lonely than you because i spend less time playing games in my basement
