Xarn

Name: Anonymous 2009-03-21 10:52

Xarn has left me in despair. No update in ages! How am I going to get news and information about the world if my only thrustworthy source goes dry?

Incidentally if a Xarn falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it still make a sound?

PS: This thread is only for Xarns. If you are not a Xarn, please refrain from posting.

True story, I actually hooked up with Xarn in his mother country of Belgium. This was around 2 months ago; he never returned my calls unfortunantly :-(

My keyboard is broken. It’s hard to reform þe ſpelling of þe Eŋliʃ laŋguage wiþout a workiŋ Alt Gr kī.

(It’s even harder to write code in a C-like language, because AZERTY is retarded.)

The only broken key on my keyboard is the Alt Gr key, and it's only been like that for a couple of days. The main reason I don't post a lot is because I don't have much to say.
The secondary reason is that I don't want to encourage you guys.

I know from experience it's not hard to acquire a QWERTY even in the French-speaking parts of Euroland. You can even find dvoraks from local online dealers. How could you not have spares of such a basic piece of equipment laying around the house? My respect for you has dropped considerably.

Laptop. I have plenty of spare keyboards, but I'm not going to carry around both a laptop and a USB keyboard.

Name: Anonymous 2009-03-24 0:00

are laptop keyboards hard to find in eurofagland?

Name: HMA FAN 2009-03-24 0:09

Belgian you say?

Moi j'aime bien manger des frites belges chez "Frites Alors". Je n'ai pas l'impression que ça existe en Europe par contre.

Also 「sageru pantsu~」.

Name: Anonymous 2009-03-24 0:25

Dell and Apple offer to build your laptop with a QWERTY in France. I'm sure some other vendors do too.

Your spelling of Sierpiński is absolutely correct and I have edited my post accordingly.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fractal_flame (also see the linked PDF) is a similarly interesting idea, and is pretty fun to program. For the lazy or not-quite-so-interested, there's some GUI fractal flame editors around, like Apophysis or Qosmic. (Sorry if you were planning to cover this already, Xarn.)

Name: Anonymous 2009-05-23 18:50

I like using Xarn as a kind of meditation mantra. It sounds powerful when you just say ``XXaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrnnnnn'' in a deep, concentrated voice. For the best effect you can say the initial XXaaa louder and then make a kind of fading/wavering sound towards the end.
