Fact: Come Rails 3 time there will be no reason to use any other Web Famework for Web 2.0 Applications.
Ruby 1.9 will be out and will fix performance issues. NO REASON TO USE JAVA ANYMORE.
Merb will merge with Rails and Rails will finally scale. NO REASON TO USE JAVA OR PHP ANYMORE.
Rails 3 will be completely component-ized and modular. Granular! Take what you need, leave the rest. NO REASON TO USE PHP ANYMORE.
That's right. Your favourite web programming language will die. There are no exceptions. Ruby is better than all.

Fact: Everyone will still be using perl when they want to get actual work done.

Nah, I just use the Network.CGI and Network.FCGI stuff to output either JSON-encoded stuff (and generate the UI on the client with JQuery) or HTML generated with Text.StringTemplate. Both output methods have disadvantages, but Haskell is leagues ahead of those shitty interpreted languages in terms of both execution and development speed.
As an added plus, bitches love sucking on a nomad's monads.
I hear you date techie alpha-males. I was wondering if we could go out some time? I hear your a slut but I'm a nice guy so we can take it slow. I only really expect a make-out on the first date, but some mutual masturbation would be nice.
Wired magazine called me the hottest programmer in the world. While I have to admit it's true (blush), you're certainly up there as well.
So get back to me! My email is on my website. Tell me what you think. I'd love to get together some time.
In March 2007 David Heinemeier Hansson filed three Rails related trademark applications to the USPTO. These applications regard the phrase "RUBY ON RAILS",[7] the word "RAILS"[8] and the official Rails logo.[9] As a consequence, in the summer of 2007 Hansson denied to Apress the permission to use the Rails logo on the cover of a new Rails book written by some authoritative community members. The episode gave rise to a polite protest in the Rails community.[10][11] In response to this criticism, Hansson made the following claims:[12]: I only grant promotional use [of the Rails logo] for products I'm directly involved with. Such as books that I've been part of the development process for or conferences where I have a say in the execution. I would most definitely seek to enforce all the trademarks of Rails.
"RAILS"? have them consider copyrighting "WINDOWS".
Microsoft failed on that one.
Mr. FrozenVoid, you're seriously pissing me off. No, I'm serious. What are you trying to achieve?

your friends at /g/ have the same attitude.
However i wouldn't get far if i listened to opinions.
I listen to rational arguments.
I don't want to achieve anything. I either achieve it or don't bother.

I don't have any friends at /g/.

You would certainly get further of you were constant in capitalising your ``I''s.
***
My rational argument is that you seem extremely unnatural, posting everywhere around /prog/, having an opinion everywhere, even a trifle and minor one. It's like you're trying to fit in, a new guy that wants to be recognised (well, if you do that, I suggest donning a name such as ``HMA meme fan'' and spamming hax my anuses everywhere. Works better).
***
This is bullshit. Utter bullshit taken straight out of an American saviour's mouth. You can't just achieve something.

Wait, you're form /g/.
I'm afraid that I can't continue this little conversation.

Of course you do. However "trying to achieve" implies failure. >>52
is /g/ more horrible then HAX MY ANUS and SICP erotica?

I'm sorry son, but /prog/ isn't your blog, i suggest you go back to /g/

The text is genuine. You just bruteforced a tripcode so you can pose as him and then call him an imposter!
I have already reported you to the authorities.
can we get on discussion? Rails 3 is obviously going to be a mess of a language once it's merged from Merb. How can you have two languages merge? What about the syntax differences between the two? Obviously, Rails people will prefer Rails' syntax, and Merb people will prefer Merb syntax.
Including both in this new language, which I don't want to call Rails or Merb because it's something completely different, will just bloat it to the point where it will be slower than Java so you might as well just program everything in Zend PHP anyways.

Ruby is slow as hell. Otherwise, it's a delight.

I think you might be basing your opinion on outdated information, or confusing Ruby with the Ruby on Rails framework. Recent improvements to the language's codebase have put it on par with other languages, Unit tests indicate that Ruby code runs at about the same speed, or even faster in some cases, than Python and Perl.

Noting of course, that both Python and Perl are slow as fuck.

I'm not gone.Deleted posts don't silence me.
I'm just forced to not use my identity and share yours ("Anonymous"). The imitators would not be able to use my name more effectively however.
>>110
I'm not a troll. Labeling me as such would further impair any arguments against me. "hes a troll doesn't listen to him" is an attempt to silence free speech and conform the post to your worldview(which considers posts not compatible with it, a "troll")
>>112
Why are you spamming if you intend to ignore something?
Do you always respond to arguments you don't like with
"ignore this,you're a troll,end of discussion"?
