Hey /prog/. What's the best motherfucking book if I want to learn assembly? And what are the runnerups? Just shout out the titles - preferably not the acronyms.

I've read the SICP thrice today.

Seriously, you're on the internet and you're asking for books? That's like being in the red light district and asking for a hooker

"Programming the Z80" is said to be good.

I personally liked "See MIPS Run", because it explained things like how the paging system and kernel/user-space division is implemented in practice. It also had a decent section on the different ABIs. Didn't like the second edition as much though.

Diggfag detected. He didn't ask for a gigantic collection of *!!!OVER 1000 FREE EBOOKS!!!*, he asked for advice for selecting a book about a particular topic from people who have preferably, like, fucking read some books about the topic in question and could give some useful bits of information.

The best motherfucking book is generally one whose title goes like Having sex with your mother: A short introduction or some such.
