WHY YOU SHOULD SWITCH TO FIREFOX TODAY

Name: Anonymous 2008-12-12 15:43

1. Firefox is the fastest web browser beating IE, Chrome and Opera in speed tests
2. Firefox is unhackable, nothing scares off hackers more than firefox
3. Firefox is not financed by evil tyrannical corporations intent on abusing their monopolies (google, microsoft)
4. Firefox does not embody pure evil like the other browsers
5. Firefox has no advertisements or spyware
6. Firefox is able to render every webpage correctly unlike IE, Chrome and Opera
7. Firefox has a cool mascot
8. Firefox is not written by demons from hell
9. Firefox is open source
10. Firefox has no active x security holes

Holy shit.
I looked this up, expecting it to be some quote from the late 80s or something, but it was in 2007.  What the fuck, rms?

Name: Anonymous 2008-12-13 23:24

>>42
rms still uses EMACS, too. it's hard to believe anyone would still be using that obsolete, non-free editor, now that the much more advanced vi is free.

It's alright. 8/10 for rendering speed on an older machine.

Name: Anonymous 2008-12-14 13:45

active x is a feature not a security hole... you can turn off active x anytime you want

That's why Russians tell your mom to click on it, which she does since she's asked to, then they proceed to steal her bank account and other things.

Lynx

Name: Anonymous 2008-12-15 17:39

Over 2008:
FireFox 2 (Jan-June) + FireFox 3 (July-Now) has had 11 security vulnerabilities (high level threats, system access, person info discovery and the like).
Internet Explorer 7 over the same period has had 10.

I will stick with the more secure browser.

Does that ten include this one?

MS appears to have no inclination to fix this massive buffer overflow until next month.

You're only counting fixed issues there, champ.

Also, /g/ thread.

Name: Anonymous 2008-12-15 21:21

>>69
Exactly, Firefox has a lot more unresolved issues. Just check out bugzilla, lol.

Your trolling isn't going to work here, Anonymous.

Name: Anonymous 2008-12-16 2:28

Firefox uses the least memory right? Therefore it is superior..... o wait nvm

Name: Anonymous 2008-12-16 2:50

/prog/

Where 50 weeks is a short time period. And you area faggot.

One reason FireFox is superior is because it has these rapid fire incremental releases that really don't add much, fix much and end up braking a lot.

Wait, that sounds familiar. That was one major thing that killed Netscape. What are those guys doing now. You say they are developing Mozilla Fire... OH SHI...

/prog/
Terrible! Don't type it without any spoiler like that, The Man is reading too.
50 weeks is a short time period
It is. /prog/ is an ancient community of Satori Programmers. We do not see time as you do for we have seen eternity, and routinely manipulate the infinites when we conjure the spirits of the computer with our spells. 50 weeks is short when you can conjure powerful towers of abstraction to last for the centuries to come.
you area faggot
braking a lot
OH SHI...
You have much to learn, young man.

Name: Anonymous 2008-12-16 21:26

Stop trolling guys, I know that you all secretly use internet explorer.
