sleepy after reading books

Name: Anonymous 2008-08-27 18:18

Anyone else get this?  Obviously if it is review or something I get more bored than tired but when learning a new math concept or programming one I get very sleepy.

Uhm, why?

But yeah, OP, I sometimes feel the same way. Sometimes I even just suspend the reading and lay myself to sleep, hoping that a few hours will bring rest. Unfortunately, it is often not the case.

I find it helps to cum on the inside of my SICP.

You probably have a dangerously low level of caffeine in your veins. This can be detrimental to your performance. I'd recommend adding more coffee to your diet. Chew coffee grains at all times or drink coffee if you're a pussy.

Sleep is allowing your brain to process/sort the memory and rejuvenate the mind. People who don't sleep have poor memory and reflexes, and learn slower. Of course you can train yourself to sleep less, but this is like asking your health to work on overdrive.

That's where you are wrong. You think that you could easily post Anonymously because you see yourself as above Anonymous, that at any point you could choose to be on his level and that would be fine. In reality, you are below him. He is controlled and restrained enough to neither need nor see a need for credit, personalities in the course of mature programming discussion.

Hello Invisible Poster, sadly I do agree with you on this matter.

This happens to a friend of mine. Every time a lecture passes beyond his level of comprehension he automagically nods off. It's good stuff.

I only get sleepy when I'm reading about chemicals. I just need to take a break when learning new programming concepts to let the idea ferment in my mind for maybe 5-10 minutes before continuing on.

I do something that raises my metabolism before studying. A very effective method is to jump 100 times on a skipping rope

Why not just skip rope, since you've got it right there?
