sort-of related question, and attempt to rescue this shitty worthless thread:
which one of you fucktards got the opera mini server banned from 4chan? and is there any way to get it unbanned?

the opera mini server
The what.
and is there any way to get it unbanned?
If there's a proxy, there will be people posting CP. For whatever reason (mostly because they're idiots).

Just change the user-agent string. It's not like it's a difficult thing to do.

opera mini is a mobile phone browser that uses a proxy (which uses a special protocol that only the opera mini client and server use). it's not banned for posting CP, it's banned for spamming.
changing the user-agent string wouldn't do any good because it's the IP of the server that's banned.
it's pretty silly to ban the opera mini server when you can just ban the person posting the spam (using the X-Forwarded-For header).
apparently it's only one of several opera mini servers that are banned, but still it's pretty silly to ban the opera mini server when you can just ban the person posting the spam (using the X-Forwarded-For header).

I doubt anyone really cares enough about the FAMOUS OPERA MINI SERVER to implement that, though.

The only good use of TOR is hidden nodes. That is all.

using the X-Forwarded-For header
I usually fake that one. If I'm trolling a forum and I manage to get the IP of the admin, I put it in there. Result: admin freaks the fuck out thinking he has some kind of malware on his machine, or (even better) doesn't recognize his IP and bans himself.

Well look who is here, the kind of people who think they have power over other people because they can abuse their powers and believe no one in the world can do anything to them.
Sorry, if you hax my site, it only shows that you have no life and also no respect and using your life's energy to hax someone else instead of using the time to help saving world
Maybe haxxing your site is his training towards saving the world, did you ever think of that, you ruthless bastard? What if you're meant to be the punching-bag for the true hero?? Anus McHaxximus

Nobody uses the X-Forwarded-For header. No forum software I know stores it. Exactly because it's so fucking worthless.

phpBB used to trust it back in 2.0.whatever. phpBB uses the actual IP address, but will also display X-Forwarded-For if a mod requests it. MyBB still trusts it.

and don't forget the countless addons that skiddies write ("hey we can detect if they're using a proxy and get their real IP from an X-Forwarded-For header") but neglect the fact that it can be spoofed.
