Don't you guys have sites similar to lib.ru in amerikka?
There are few books I want to read in englsih, and I can't find them, and buying is not an option.

I'd imagined him a bit more... like Masi Oka, really. Yeah, that's who I'd pick for the role. Of course, the dimwits in the movie business would rather pick someone like Keanu Reeves, who couldn't pretend to hack his way out of a wet paperbag, with or without a complimentary katana.

Masi Oka couldn't pretend to hack his way out of the closet.

Why would you buy something that you can get for free on the internet?

Getting snowcrash cost me a few cents in bandwidth to download and about five minutes of time printing it out on someone else's printers. I then stole a binder from the same person which is now where I house my copy of Snow Crash.
Later, I saw a copy at a used book fair, and bought it. But that got given away to someone else who needs to READ THEIR SNOW CRASH.

I'm reading my A Scanner Darkly at the moment. I don't really like it and I guess I'll give it few chapters and then try Neuromancer.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. You might as well finish it though; it's not very long.
I'm not 100% on Neuromancer either. It's good untilLinda Lee dies, and then it's like a different (now scatterbrained) book.
#1) you can't even use IRC well; #2) you can't tab-complete; #3) you can't google - this implies yer too busy jerking off and sucking soda or video-gaming. Die well, kid

I'm going to post links to new xkcd every time Randall makes a blog joke.
Every.
Fucking.
Time.
I think I'm going to register to the XKCD forums just to post my factorial in HASKELL.

You should post some loeb.
loeb :: Functor f => f (f a -> a) -> f a
loeb f = fmap ($ loeb f) f

I propose that you go there and post loeb yourself.

That's preposterous, sir. I'd never go near an XKCD forum.

PS. Shouldn't that be wood in `poplar' culture?

Oh. Good job, Randall. I hope that you realise that you're contributing to making Wikipedia worse.

It's not Randall's fault XKCD readers are retarded sheep. Or is it?

Of course it is. If he wasn't styled to attract that kind of reader, his readers would be something else.

Well, since you put it that way, it's really Wiki's fault (can't fight the spammers? Shut everything down!). But we both know that people are stupid and that it should be taken into account, especially when you are the creator of an influential webcomic.
Features:
* Adds a spam thread to the xkcd forums in addition to self-replication
* Posts loeb

SnowCrash was a brilliant book with an amazing world, I would love to see a sequel of some sort, though obviously it isn't going to happen.
While I realized a lot of was mostly generic CyberPunk, it was just fitted together so beautifully that it seemed like it was real in a lot of places. Plus, the characters were just plain funny!
I'd suggest if you haven't read it, do so. I know I love my first edition softcover I picked up!

Damnit, someone actually used spoiler tags for ACTUAL SPOILERS. Fuck you /prog/, you've desensitised me to spoilers.

Would it help if I said I feel kind of bad about it :(
I split the spoiler in an attempt to give people a second chance. But it's not even important to the story. I just think that's the point where the book went downhill.

I'm reading Snow Crash right now. Just finished the part where the Autonomous Guard Dog overheats. Reminded me of Haskell, and I felt kind of bad about it :(
