to work

Hey. I want to work in programming, but I don't want to go to college for it. I believe I can learn such a thing faster/better with the internet/books/myself as teacher.

I have the math skills, up to calculus, and have done HTML, C++. C#, JS. But never became a master in any of them. I'm wondering what is most in-demand and best way to get a foot in the door.

Start your own business you lazy cunt.

Depends on what you want to do.
If you want to be an enterprise faggot code monkey coding closed-source business applications, Java is a good start, but expect to jump through hoops to get meaningless certifications as well.
If you want to be a general-purpose programmer who doesn't loathe himself, a good start would be joining some random open source project on the internets and picking up whatever language they're using. After you do that for a while, you'll build up contacts with people worth working with. It's probably more effort in the short term, though, and you'll be doing work for free for a while.

OP here.

Maybe I will get involved in that CivII source code deconstruction project.

About certifications though what certification are there for programming??

Shape your own future, my boy.

MAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY AND GET COMMIT PERMISSIONS TO THE GCC SOURCE REPOSITORY AND SEE HOW YOU GO FROM THERE.

Attention OP:
The only job you'll ever get is enterprise code monkey or a CRUD type job without a degree. Question: How are your fish-tuning abilities? Any good? Because that's the job that you'll be getting.
