You guys just don't get it, Wordpad is supreme. It runs on all computers capable of Windows, is easy to use and has lots of customization options available (not too many to make it confusing). You can edit configuration files with it or write school papers.

There are some editors under Linuxes (Emacs) that come close, but none of them are as good as Wordpad.

Notepad++ is great, had coded into it like 25 languages for colouring and bolding syntax, tabbed files, can split view to be working on 2 files at once.  Even saves current session so if you close and reopen it it maintains the file view exactly how it was.
