I can see MS is desesperate for us to use their .net platform; what do you guys think about .net? as an old Visual Basic 6 programmer, and now C/PHP/Bash programmer, I think I'll give .net a try.

Discuss about my choices.

I moved to VB.NET a few months ago and am quite enjoying it. It tends to be a quite productive environment for me

MS is always desesperate for anything theirs. The fact they are advertising their own platform doesn't mean it's good or you should use it.

.NET is okay. Not the bomb. Doesn't suck. VB sucks. VB.net is okay, but its syntax sucks. I wouldn't bother with .NET.

What's wrong with the syntax?

Name: Anonymous 2006-11-21 13:55

they should have called it CAPS LOCK, because then it would be cooler to use
