Vim is fast to edit in. Much faster than emacs, but when I'm programming I don't really need speed there. I need power related to diffs and patches, vim lacks that.
I still like vim.

vim sucks fat, hairy, greasy, oozy, smelly monkey balls.

I like the diff view, and DirDiff.
Sure, could be better, but it's good enough for when I need it.
>>6
No, it doesn't. A computer program cannot do that, unless it controls hardware, like Emacs.

vim can execute external programs, if you want ediff.

MAN! The . command sure is powerful! I never have to repeat an action, I laugh at the Emacs (and worse) users that have to actually press more than one key to do anything.

I was using Notepad today at work and kept typing [esc][esc]:wq to save, rather than [alt]f s
:-/
vim's hard to learn and get used to, but when you do, it's sooo nice.

Yeah, it's sooooo nice to type 5 keys instead of what you'd do with a 2 key combination in a decent editor. It's soooo nice to... wait, this is a troll.

To save, in insert mode, do this:
^O:w\n (4 keys)
or save and quit
^OZZ (3 keys)
You could even bind ^S in insert mode to :w if you wanted. I just noticed that it was unused, so I might do just that.
