Libertarianism - A dying belief

Why is libertarianism bad?

Why are there so few libertarians?

It must be bad, because so many refuse it.

If the government cannot intervene in the economy, how can it favor one private business over another?

The free market suppresses this avenue for corruption, while in mixed economies or governments with neo-keynesian policies the government has greater reach thus greater rewards to be gained from corruption, a larger more complex government is also more difficult to monitor making the process easier as well.

Corruption is not solely in the blatant form of bribery and assassination. Often politicians are mooks who would not be there if it were not for their "benefactors" and do not need multi-million dollar bribes or the fear of assassination to be neutralized politically. In order to end this circus the voting public merely needs to adopt libertarian values and principles and accept not just the limitations of government which have made libertarians controversial but also look at the actual role and function of government and where things need to be improved.

Do we need a tariff on sugar or do we need stronger local governments that can better manage their utilities and services? Do we need another pointless war that will drag on for a decade or lower taxes?
