I have a surprise for you: since ancient times, behind the slave trade stands the Jew. The Jews maintain slave trade dynamics, making continuous gesheft from it.
In Europe, the slave trade was almost exclusively Jewish business. Slaves came mainly from the East Slavic lands. Bishop Agobard of Lyons (IX century. Jewish merchants brought the Slavic slaves to Muslim countries. Women and girls were meant concubines for harems, while young men, after castration, served as eunuchs. According to the laws of Islam, the Muslims are prohibited doing castration, so this procedure was done by the Jewish doctors. The medieval Arab historian al-Muqaddasi writes that the main supplier of white eunuchs in Muslim harems were "Slavs, the country which lies behind the Khorezm, they are being castrated, and then moved to Egypt."
Slavs were taken to the Spanish cities, inhabited by the Jews, who castrated them. Only a small part of the slaves survived after such an operation, but the survivors were very expensive. [That is, in modern language, for the Jews it was a very good business].
During the 1490s, trade with the New World began to open up. At the same time, the monarchies of Spain and Portugal expelled all of their Jewish subjects. As a result, Jews began participating in all sorts of trade on the Atlantic, including the slave trade.
The Jews of Algiers were frequent purchasers of Christian slaves brought in by the Barbary corsairs. Meanwhile, Jewish brokers in Livorno (Leghorn), Italy were instrumental in arranging the ransom of Christian slaves from Algiers to their home countries and freedom. Although one slave accused Livorno's Jewish brokers of holding the ransom money until the captives died.
The role of Jewish traders was significant in Brazil and the Christian inhabitants of Brazil were envious because the Jews owned some of the best plantations in the river valley of Pernambuco, and some Jews were among the leading slave traders in the colony. Some Jews from Brazil migrated to Rhode Island in the American colonies, and played a significant role in the 18th-century slave trade of that colony.
The New World location where the Jews played the largest role in the slave-trade was in the Caribbean and Suriname, most notably in possessions of Holland, that were serviced by the Dutch West India Company. The slave trade was one of the most important occupations of Jews living in Suriname and the Caribbean. The Jews of Suriname were the largest slave-holders in the region. Jews played a "major role" in the slave trade in Barbados and Jamaica. Jewish plantation owners in Suriname helped to suppress several slave revolts in the period 1690 to 1722.
In Curaçao, Jews were involved in trading slaves. Jews imported fewer than 1,000 slaves to Curaçao between 1686 and 1710. After that time slave trade diminished.
Jewish merchants played a significant part in the slave-trade of American Colonies only in Newport, Rhode Island.

Low-skilled workers from China, Romania, Africa, Turkey, Thailand, the Philippines, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and India face conditions of forced labor, such as unlawful withholding of passports, restrictions on movement, non-payment of wages, threats, and physical intimidation. Many labor recruitment agencies in source countries and in Israel require workers to pay recruitment fees ranging from $1,000 to $10,000—a practice that makes workers highly vulnerable to trafficking once in Israel, and in some cases, situations of debt bondage. Israel is also a destination country for women trafficked from Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Belarus, China, South Korea and possibly the Philippines for the purpose of sexual exploitation. African asylum seekers entering Israel illegally are also vulnerable to trafficking for forced labor or prostitution.
