Swastika symbols were around on church buildings long before Hitler came to power and had many uses in the West before the Nazis came to power.

During the early Christians, the both Pagan and Christians called each other "Atheists".
Yeah, that often was used as a epithet, being an atheist at that time was like being Satan. Kind of like the US in some parts today.
And then, what is "God"? How can you reject something you can't define? Then if I define my God as the Sun, you can reject it only if you're blind or live in other start system.
