A former physics/chemistry teacher in Pennsylvania has filed a federal lawsuit seeking an injunction against teaching the theory of evolution, because it promotes religion; or rather, 'atheism.' He argue that if creationism can't be taught because it promotes Christianity, then evolution can't be taught because it promotes atheism.
What do you guys think? Should evolution be taught in public schools? If not, should creationism be taught?

Naw.
It's just someone on that figured out a new approach. The question he's posing is, "Is a professed dis-belief, a belief in itself?" After all, Religion is nothing more than a belief..
Why! I ask why! Is there a hand of religion in important decisions in the government! Creationism!? It a fantasy story! Nothing more, how can someone even believe that over rational explanations of how "stuff" came to be?!

Eliminate public schooling and we won't have this problem.

Public schooling is the reason why the US hasn't completely degenerate into a theocracy.

Please tell me you're joking. It's because of the public school system that idiots like Tom Ritter aren't able to spew their bile at our children.

Home schooling is not necessarily a facet of religion; some parents have their children home schooled because of a perceived failure of the public school system, and granted, one that is not properly subsidized does become, essentially, shit. I don't know of any home schooling that teaches basic science, though if there are, I wouldn't be against it in principle, however, it's best the children get a proper education in a decently funded public school.
Abolishing the public school system is not only throwing out the baby with the bathwater, but fucking retarded.
If ALL religions had a big 'fight' and finaly anounced whose god is real (lol), they could have an arguement about religious schooling. Since there are so many of them, each one of them claiming to be the sole keepers of the absolute truth (lol**2), they should just shut up and fuck off. Scientinst have already done this. It is called scientific method and although not 100% correct, it has helped humans evolve way more than any religion. They HAVE come together and found whose truth is correct and they have proved it experimentaly in most cases. I'd like to see ANY religion attempt this!
But what do you expect? Religions are not about god. They are about having follwers. Paying followers preferably. Followers open up the door to politics and politics gives access to power and wealth which is the ultimate goal. God has nothing to do with this bussiness, he's just being used (if you even think he/she/it exists). This kind of proves there is no god, otherwise he would be fucking piseed off for being used like this :p

" god is infinite and all mighty, and we are all children of god, but only jesus is the son of god, and we are certainly not inside of god EVEN THOUGH HES INFINITE"
Lol. Plenty of religious folk believe in evolution, including most Catholics.

True. The Pope even said that evolution could have been guided by God. Science and religion do not have to be incompatible with each other.

Schools have no right to teach my children that there is no God. Evolution should be banned from public schools.

But there is no god. If you want your children to be stupid, then don't send them to school at all. Don't expect everyone else to make education stupid just to bring it down to your level.

It's about darn time us non-believers got classified as a religion. We've been fighting for our religious rights for centuries now. We need to be allowed to build churches for our worhip or the abscence and non-existance of Holy Father Who Art in Heaven Forever and Ever Amen.
We need to build altars on which to make sweet and holy love to 12 year old girls in the name of atheism. I mean screw science - it's really all about the chicks.

Non believers are not a religion. Saying "I don't think there is a god" is different from "I believe there is no god".
I'm not crazy, I'm not a troll. But, I love the Matrix, Stephen King's Dreamcatcher and Food Incorporated.
If any of you hate the corporations like Cargill, Perdue (if you speak french, this name is ironic) and the destruction that others like them are wreaking upon the earth and humanity in the name of profit, then I invite 4chan to expose them. Take the red pill, and the most rocking trip since time began.
If I have inadvertantly posted in the wrong board, please forgive me and direct me to another. This same message will appear again and again until Anonymous finds it and chooses to act. or not. I mean, it's up to them. But, if they've successfully targeted Scientology then American corporations and special interests ought to be a piece of cake.
Ready for the revolution?
It doesn't matter what you believe as long as you have the balls to be a decent person and not impose your beliefs on others. Everyone can make the world a better place. Fuck you if you haven't fucking well figured that out. Sorry. I love you all, really, but it's pretty fucking clear to me if nothing else is. Real enemy is above. Humans must love each other, we must make the world a better place. GET WITH THE PROGRAM.

School never teaches that god doesn't exist. Among other things, school teaches science - facts. It's not my problem if facts contradict your god.

Evolution is not a fact, it's a logical fallacy which plagiarises a few scant facts to give it the facade of being scientific to the untrained eye.
