Does anyone else not support the Olympics?
I mean, there are people starving in the world, not to mention all the homeless/starving people right here in Canada. And yet we're spending millions and millions on a sporting event. I'm not saying all sporting events are bad, it's just that this one seems a bit excessive. It'd be fine if it wasn't so expensive, that money should be used to improve the world somehow, not support a dick measuring contest between countries.
And any time I tell someone that, they look at me like I just said Hitler was a good guy.

I'd support the racing horse over 20 dying mules any day.

The mules will not advance us, or show us what we are capable of.

The horse will create a progressive future.

I support the progress of man-kind in sports / science and understanding of the human condition / arts. Stop feeding a mass that will take that food and turn it into more hungry babies that add nothing to humanity.

Why should the burdens of the world be placed on the shoulders of the olympics and no one else?

Because! Jeez it is simple for fucks sake.

Protesters don't have anything better to do, so they have to pick some poor multinational organization and blame them for all the worlds wrong, if they had to blame all funded sources it would make their head hurt. cmon get with the program.

At least gay athletes can actually come to Canada without anything to fear, unlike China.

At least there were no faggots in the Chinese olympics.

Commies persecuted fags and kikes as much as the nazis, the reason we don't hear about it was because they were on our side during ww2.

Kikes invented marxism, and they love perpetuating cultural homosexuality over and above naturalistic homosexuality.

Africa received tons of support and all it caused was a dramatic rise in the population count. Starvation prevailed, only the number of starving people rose.

It would be best to leave them alone and not meaddle in their affairs.

Also, i do not think it is possible to not receive a job in canada if you have put a minimal amount of effort.

So if we enslaved them and forced them to work our plantations we would actually be doing them a favor?

Get out, Stormfag.

The resources spent on the Olympics would do exactly ZERO for starving babies in Africa or whatever stereotype you're protesting for, OP.

What those people need is infrastructure, stable democratic government, and education, not another handout. We've been throwing supplies at them for decades and it has only made things much, much worse. The entire continent is violent, corrupt, and unstable. Every time you turn around, there's another coup. The only way Africa is going to improve is if the African people stand up and start trying to make a difference.

Concerning homelessness, despite what some politicians would have you believe, you can't fight it directly. Not effectively, anyway. Homelessness naturally declines in a healthy economy.

On a somewhat related note, while food security is still a serious problem, our current level of global food production could feed the planet several times over. More people are actually overweight than undernourished.

Oh, and I was in favor of the Chinese Olympic boycott on the grounds of human rights. I firmly believe China's government has demonstrated they have no respect for the ideals of the Olympics and thus should have been disqualified from being able to host the games at all.

Should it have been cancelled altogether? No. Just move it somewhere civilized.

Nowhere is 100% perfect and civilised.

Gee, there's no such place that matches everyone's definition of perfect? No fucking shit. That's not what I said, nor what I implied, and you know it.

You're not alone, OP. I totally opposed the Chicago Olympic bid when the bid was really hyped up here. The argument is always posed that it will create tons of jobs, but we all know the biggest winners were going to be the politicians whose pockets will be thoroughly lined with cash. It's as if they have no idea how to create public sector jobs without a direct benefit to themselves.

But it's logical though. By exploiting them hard and impoverish them to starve out the weak we unintentially give them the economic power they can use to negotiate better living conditions.

A better question would be, is there anyone else out there who doesn't care about tha Limpix?

I know. I'm stating a fact that contradicts your assertion.
