The BNP is not against progress. But the country is not going to be able to sustain itself if population increases as it has. To me, that's the antithesis of progress. Right now there's quite a bit of stagnation, and a lot of it (not all) is caused by government involvement.
Rome was very multicultural before its collapse. And I'm not saying that was the only cause of its collapse (its expansion into other territories also contributed), but when a society becomes very multicultural, it loses cohesion. Tell me, would you call Japan racist because of their desire to have a one race society? The Emperor and I believe also the Prime Minister have said on more than one occasion that Japan is a one race society. Yet this is not considered "bigotry". Why is that?
