He did not conquer by force.  He was voted into office because the Nazis promised government-provided benefits, and the people fell for it.

Well, what they DID was, in fact, planned economy and they also had a philosophy behind it.
How do you want to define socialism? State owned means of production? CHECK
It was certainly not the way Marx envisioned it but they never claimed to be marxists in the first place.
