I commend your vote, sir.  Good work.

Proof that democracy does not work.

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-13 11:36

>>12
So the lisbon treaty was passed even though more people voted no?

No, it's just that the general populace is way too ignorant for referenda. There should be no reason to force people who don't want to find out about things to decide on anything important. Especially when the decisions affect half a billion people.

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-13 15:56

>>12
Since when did "it didn't go my way" = "democracy doesn't work"?

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-13 16:15

>>16
Since when have they not been so?

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-13 17:45

Ireland voted no to Lisbon treaty.

As an Irishfag, I feel so ashamed. I would like to destroy that moron Ganley, he is a retarded idiot and doesn't know what he was talking about. The entire treaty was a good idea because it consolidated the EU and would have made it into a stronger presence globally.

I voted yes, and I'm pissed off...

Can't the EU just not include Ireland?  What exactly does a tiny island like Ireland have to offer the mainland?  Isn't this just another way for bureaucrats to force laws and taxes on your country?

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-13 20:02

Fuck the Lisbon Treaty until at least free speech is guaranteed in all of the EU nations.

Sod off.

A pan-European dictatorship is just not the best thing to have right now.

Ahh, and here is the butthurt nationalist conspiracy theorist. How's the weather there?

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-13 22:25

>>22
Wait... I just made the mistake of my life and looked at the website. Man, have I underestimated the potential retardation at hand... Eurabia huh? Luckily there is substantially less of you retards in Europe than in America, and I don't know why the fuck the Irish voted no, I haven't been following this closely, but surely it's not DERP DERP DERP EURARABIA DERP DERP ISLAMIC CONSPIRACY

Name: sage 2008-06-13 22:27

Conspiracy implies illegality and, sometimes, secrecy, whereas they have made it quite clear that they plan to do this through legal means.
The weather is excellent.

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-13 22:38

>>23
Why exactly would Ireland vote yes?  What do they have to gain from giving up their sovereignty?  And what does the EU have to gain from incorporating a tiny country like Ireland?  What's so great about the EU anyway?

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-13 22:51

This document is complicated and virtually unreadable but, trust us, there's nothing bad in it.

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-13 23:00

>>26
More like I'm too dumb to understand anything, so I'll just vehemently oppose anything that my meager mind can't grasp

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-13 23:03

>>24
Except such a plan only exists in the minds of retarded reactionaries, and crying so citing completely irrelevant bullshit doesn't make it true. Enjoy your basement humidity.

>>25
Look! The kid typed his first words!

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-13 23:17

>>28
That doesn't answer any of my questions.  Are you a troll, or do you just not know?

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-14 0:02

>>29
Are you a retard, or are you just in denial, crying about meaningless rhetoric?

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-14 0:33

>>30
No, seriously, can you answer the questions above?  You seem to be all for the EU and Ireland's involvement in it.  I'd like to know why.

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-14 0:49

>>31
No, as I said, you are a retard posing retarded rhetoric questions. Some retards make it as if it was a vote for revoking independence, and your sentiments seem to be in this line.

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-14 1:32

>>32
My questions were not rhetorical.  I'd really like to know, why the fuck is it a big deal whether or not Ireland signs the treaty?  If you can't answer that's fine, but don't act like you have a stick up your ass when someone asks a question.

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-14 2:02

There are a lot of conspiracyfags who oppose the treaty, but Ireland is a country that accepted the euro and the treaty allows provisions for member states whom do not wish to entirely comply with the constitution so it cannot be said the majority are irrationally nationalistic or fearful of losing sovereignty. It is wrong to dismiss people's legitimate disagreements with the constitution as making "it as if it was a vote for revoking independence".

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-14 2:44

>>33
You still can't get it through your thick head, can you? You cried WHY GIV UP SOVREIGNTY???? - There is no answer to this, because no one is giving up sovereignty, retarded loser, your questions were simply shitty rhetoric with no factual basis only serving to invoke emotional response from nationalistfags - while if you could read and learn, you would have known reality, and how fucking stupid and irrelevant your "non-rhetoric" questions were.

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-14 19:53

>>35
Listen, faggot, you can't tell me what my questions mean, because you fucking didn't ask them.  There was no crying.  In fact, the only person crying around here is you.  You whine and piss and bitch and moan every time someone says something that isn't in absolute harmony with whatever you believe.  And if you want to talk about facts you should present some yourself.  You're the emotionally explosive reactionary asshole who never supplements his arguments with facts.

Now, considering:
- The Lisbon Treaty would abolish the national veto - the right to say "No" - in 61 areas, over issues such as energy, health and foreign policy.

- It would allow EU judges to decide for how long Ireland should lock up its criminals and what rights should be granted to migrants.

- And it would tighten further the EU's guidelines on public spending, which discriminate against long-term investment in services like schools and hospitals.

Can you offer any reason as to why Ireland should have accepted the treaty?  If you can't, then shut the fuck up.

BUSH IS SOSHALIST

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-15 1:15

>>36
Thanks for proving your retardation once again, too bad your crying has no connection to facts yet once again.

If we look at >>25, we see "What do they have to gain from giving up their sovereignty", while you now cried denying ever saying it. Congratulations on having a memory on par with the rest of your meager mind. Continuing, that post was a reply to a post ridiculing the retardation of the "source" cited - a completely delusional conspiracy theory website whose believers should seek mental help.

Now that we are through with why you had failed, and needed to post that butthurt response, if you knew a thing or two, you'd know that the things you cite are not completely true, and in their correct form they are no violation of national sovereignty. Does it increase the involvement of EU? Yes. Is it a bad thing? Only if you cry BAWW GOVERNMENT CONSPIRACY EURABIA NEW WORLD ORDAH. The EU isn't controlled by some martians and it follows an extremely decentralized way of moving - necessary for the fragmented Europe to become a global player again, all the while improving the living conditions internally,  Ireland itself had its economic boom very influenced by EU subsidies, and now they carry their own weight, helping Eastern Europe. If you are a retarded loser who buys every piece of shit churned out for morons, it is natural for you not to see why they should have accepted it. If you are a moron who has no foresight, then it is natural for you not to see it. Enjoy your failure.

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-15 4:03

So, in other words, you can't give even one (1) good reason why they should have accepted the treaty.  If you could, you'd simply state it and have me shut up.  Instead you, yes you, cry in a paragraph long maelstrom of butthurt and cruise-control-for-cool.

Also, I never denied what I said in >>25, but I guess you're the type who sees whatever he wants to see, rather than whats really there.

I'm not the one talking about conspiracies or eurabia, I simply asked, "what does Ireland have to gain?".  Apparently that's such a horrendous offense that you can't even stop spewing hate for two seconds to give a proper answer.

I don't know why you bother posting on this board when you never offer real discussion points or cited information (which you seem to value so much, despite never providing it), but if it keeps your blood pressure I'll keep arguing with ya.  fag.
