If the government wanted better soldiers, they should train American kids in public schools to be less prone to American on American violence and they would also promote a healthy lifestyle without the pep-rally bullshit. When I was in the ARMY, they were brainwashing their soldiers by making them associate exercise with punishment. It's still going on today. Also fire-guard. Fucking fire-guard. Gay and religious people seemed to always get the best of everything in the military. I said "Fuck that, I'm too smart to be here" and then my drill sergeant kicked me out because of how independent I was. "Fuck free-dumb, I want to live".
More than anyone else military personnel supported Ron Paul.

Maybe! they Don't feel comfortable with shooting people. fact is a lot of soldiers,at least in the second world war, would use the Gun as a weapon of fear.
The things the US military does now a days is extreme. I'm sure you've seen the wiki leak video of the helicopter gun ship. i found a video linked from this site and there was footage from like 1983 and its like a computer game. random gunships flying around shooting, grainy footage, tanks.
This footage is filmed for a reason and only people in the know get to see it. when it is leaked it is a big deal.
in some ways being a soldier is a mans right. if he has to do it in the name of corruption hes gonna hate it, maybe only on a subconscious level.i think its sad that the victims of war are civilians in each country...dead women and children in their homes and then the cost on the soldiers when they get home themselves.The people who are outside the theater of war are only really affected with extreme forms of war like terrorism,espionage and assassinations and drone strikes all of which we are blind to (perhaps for good reasons).
Its a shame because an organization the size of the us military could achieve SO MANY positive things...why not deploy men on the ground in threatened tropical rainforests to combat illegal logging, there are probably many social and scientific projects they could take part in On Africa.... drought,deforestation soil erosion,, water scarcity,these are all man made problems and they compound the problems of the people starting their lives there.
Also our people are smart and generous and where they can probably have a net positive effect on other individuals they meet.
I hate the US military and TBH I'm not American.but it is possible that if i where a US citizen i would be in the army in some way.

The VA won't help you much even if you get them. The last time I talked to a VA social worker I told her: "You're a band-aid. You don't do anything to help, but your job exists so that people can point to you and say "Look, see, someone is helping, we care for veterans" but at the end of this interview you're going to kick me right back out into the streets. You aren't going to come visit my homeless camp to see if conditions are safe. You aren't going to treat my open boils and bleeding legs and feet unless I go over to medical and FORCE them to. You're leaving me in the care of someone you say isn't capable of caring for himself. You kill a horse when it goes lame, but I've got to live out here, even though everyone I love is dead, even though inside I'm dead, even though I'm so fucked up that you won't even let me come to group therapy sessions because I upset the other veterans too much. You tell me I might have tumors in my head, but then tell me you can't arrange for transportation to and from a VA hospital, and you know I don't have a car."
Eventually I finally exploded at them over the phone, and they called the police on me, even though when the police got there they admitted I'd done nothing wrong (apparently I have a "threatening demeanor". Well no shit).
Good luck with your claim, but don't expect much of any real help (outside of the money). If you ask them, "Who do I give the money to, so that I can get the help I need", they'll point you in the direction of civilian homeless services and close the door. If you don't leave the premesis when they tell you to, they call security and have you escorted off.
I always tell my psychs "If I snap, and bad things happen, the only thing I'm saying to the media is that I've been begging the VA to help me deal with my situation for year after year now, and they keep sending me out into society to try to adapt even though I admit that I can't".
And that'll be all I have to say about it. That's my every day reality. I went to the VA yesterday to make an appointment, the guy behind the counter laughed and said I was always welcome, I said "Yeah, that's because I haven't threatened to kill you yet." and he kept laughing. It wasn't a joke. I ain't laughing. I don't even smile much anymore. I start to smile when I see something funny, then I remember who and what I am, and that smile slides right off my face like it never existed.
2013 is the year I realized I'm probably going to have to take myself out at some point. How fucking great is that to look forward to.
I tell my doctors all this shit, and they give me some pills to calm me down. That's all they can do. Lock me up and sooner or later you'll have to let me go. I'm a problem without a solution. I'm self-aware enough to realize that. So why is it illegal for me to die?
They won't let me have that "Right To Die" crap unless the tumors in my head turn out to be real, or some other incurable disease hits me. Maybe they won't even let me have it then because of my psych past.
I don't want to look down the barrel of a shotgun and wonder if I'm about to fuck it all up, lay there in my blood for an hour, maybe be found, get locked up in some psych ward and have my diapers changed by a large, apathetic nurse for the rest of my life.
Let me just go, let me go cleanly and safely, or don't blame me when things go wrong, because I've done nothing but beg for help the entire time.
The VA is a fucking joke. After years of trying to get help from them I said fuck it and got up off my ass and helped myself, best decision I ever made.

I would like to say I know EXACTLY where you all are coming from. I received my Sex Offender status in 2010 in the state of Hawaii. I was active duty military with 25th ID. A (45 y/o, and extremely over weight)female soldier has a stroke. When the Doctor asks if she has any stresses in her life she says I grabed her chest (over the clothes) 4 months ago and traumatized her which is why she over-eats. Well my superiors by UCMJ law had to look into the situation. I was in pre-trial confident for a great while. while officers conducted an investigation. I was appointed military counsel... My biggest mistake. He demanded I say "yes I did it" or get 5 years hard labor at fort Leavenworth military prison. I was told it was staying military, and would NOT follow me into civilian life. Like a idiot who blindly follows orders: I took the plea with an honorable discharge. I was out of the ARMY for a day when I was informed by my home county in Tennessee that I had to register as a sex offender. I didn't receive a felony or misdemeanor just the horrible label of RSO. since then I have been fired from countless jobs. I have ran out of job options. I have been homeless since the day I got out of the ARMY 2 years ago. My family has disowned me because of this. my friends I have lost contact with over the years (because i was gone to serve my country) do not want anything to do with me either. I have no where to live, no where to work, nothing to eat, ect. While all of this was going on, the only thing i had left was my vehicle and my possessions. Well I was going through a divorce while all of this was going on and my ex-wife drained my bank accounts, and took all my belongings, clothes included.

A two-star general general who oversaw the US arsenal of intercontinental missiles was fired for allegedly drinking and carousing with women.
An internal investigation by the Inspector-General of the Air Force, released on Thursday, showed that Major-General Michael Carey was removed from his job as commander of the 20th Air Force in October for "conduct unbecoming a gentleman."
Mr Carey's "indecorous" behaviour is alleged to have taken place during an official trip he led in July to Russia for US-Russian exercises and discussions related to nuclear security, Reuters reported.
