The biggest problem is the treatment of women. They can be killed by male family members if they feel she's brought dishonor on her family, or she can be married off to older men against her will.
Sharia Law also allows for women to be stoned for being raped if she was married, as she is now an adulteress.
How about we make Sharia law optional? Both sides have to agree to use it, sort of like binding arbitration but with hand-cutting-off as a possible result.
Then we'll see how far that goes and work from there, because corporal punishment is awesome.
How would Stephanie of Lazy Town be treated under Sharia Law? Would her incredible cuteness be respected? Would Pedobear be able to "get any" from her?

Basically, the empires with a single religion owned the ottomans, and then they got owned by those with a single religion and a culture, who now are tranforming into multi-cultural multi-religion structure, like that seen in the ottomans (who rose by defeating unicultural countries), hmm nice cycle here...
